Dr. Amy Freed
Dr. Amy Freed received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 from the University of South Dakota with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Freed also received her Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1994 while at Illinois College of Optometry. In 1997 she graduated with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry and earned her Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Freed started practicing in Madison, Wisconsin then moved to Minnesota in 1998, where she continues to practice. In 2005 Dr. Freed opened Southwest Eye Care in Chaska with her husband Dr. Chris Freed and colleague Dr. Chad Dockter. Dr. Amy and Dr. Chris have 2 young boys, Evan and Easton that keep them busy when they are not at the office. Three of her four siblings are also raising families in the surrounding area. Her specialty areas are contact lens fitting, refractive surgery consultation & follow-up, and diagnosing & treating ocular pathology from “pink-eye” to ocular allergies. Things she enjoys doing in her spare time are hiking up North with her boys & chocolate lab, running, and snow skiing with family.
